Downshire Interact members Emma Baird & Amy Barnes, accompanied by Julie McLean (Head of 6th Form) visited the Club to report on their Interact activities during the year.
For their local projects they gave details of their negotiation and management of a non-uniform day which raised £203.60 for the Children's Hospice and their volunteer work at the Rotary Club's 'Tree of Hope'.
On the international front they described how they ran a junior school fundraising competition with a prize of a movie afternoon for the winning class. This event raised £388.62 to buy Literacy boxes for India.
Their final event of the year was an Easter coffee morning for 6th Form which netted £229.12 for Fields of Life. Fields of Life collaborates with churches and communities in East Africa to provide education, clean water and promote self sustaining community projects.
Rotarian Jim Dunlop congratulated them on their programme of service to others in the local & international community.
