Sam preparing to fuel his car
Rotarian Sam Bell, the owner since 2016 of a 4WD Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) spoke on the subject of electric vehicles.
He traced the influences on the development of the electric car since the first one was invented in 1884 to its current rise in popularity where charging rates giving over 200 miles motoring makes it a viable alternative to petrol or diesel vehicles.
He pointed out that Tesla USA is in the forefront of development but most major manufacturers have recently announced development of electric cars - with even an 'e' Bentley available.
Sam was enthusiastic about the advantages as he saw it - lower costs, ease of driving, less pollution and less noise.
He concluded his talk with a glimpse into the future possibilities of electric motoring.
